Selection Info
A small list of what is selected, and a quicker way to isolate it in the viewport.
Tool Box In the base package
What it does
What is selected
The list follows the selection live. Or turn that off, build a list by hand with + and -, and keep it while you work on something else.
Isolate from the list
One button is Maya's View Selected. Add rows to what the viewport isolates, or take them out, without touching your selection. Isolate everything listed, or select whatever is isolated.
Says what each viewport shows
Every row is marked as isolated, partly isolated, or hidden by isolate. With two viewports isolating different things, the tool follows whichever is active, or you can pin it to one.
A small tool, honestly
It comes with the base package, so there is nothing to decide. It is here because isolating a handful of things, and then adjusting that handful, is fiddlier in Maya than it should be.
