License
The short version: install it on every machine you work on, read the code, change it if you like, and sell whatever you make with it. Just do not pass the files on to anybody else.
The same text ships in the download as a file called LICENSE, and it is the one that counts.
Yours to use
One payment, no subscription, no expiry. Home machine and work machine both count as you.
What you make is yours
Rigs, shots, renders, scripts, shelves. And any tool you write for the tool box, which you may sell. We claim nothing in any of it.
Not yours to hand out
Do not publish the files, sell them on, or share your download link. A studio buys a copy per artist.
What you may do
- Install it on every machine you work on.
- Use it on paid work. What you make while using it is yours: rigs, animation, shots, renders, scenes, models, and the scripts and shelves you write for your own work. We take no cut of what you earn.
- Read the code. It ships as plain Python and is meant to be read.
- Change it for your own use, at work included, and run those changes in your studio's own pipeline. Changes are at your own risk, and we cannot support a copy we did not write.
What you may not do
- Give the files away, sell them, lend them, or put them anywhere else to download, changed or not.
- Publish the code or any part of it, including on a public repository.
- Sell something that is mostly these tools with your name on it.
- Remove the copyright notices inside.
- Share your download link or receipt so somebody else can get a copy.
Want a copy for each artist in a studio? Buy one each, or write to us and we will sort out something sensible.
Tools you write for it
The tool box is built to host tools other people write, and you are welcome to write them. Write one for yourself, for your studio, or to give away or sell. It is yours, we claim nothing in it, and we take no cut.
- Your add-on may require the tool box. It may not contain it: do not put our files inside what you hand out.
- Whoever installs your add-on needs their own copy of ours.
- Do not name it or present it so that it looks like one of ours.
Updates and refunds
Updates to a tool you own are included, for as long as we publish them. We do not promise to publish forever, or to support Maya versions other than the ones named on the tool's page when you bought it.
The refund policy is on the support page and applies as written there on the day you bought. Taking a refund ends your license to what you bought: stop using it and delete your copy.
No warranty
The software is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise it is free of faults, or that it will work with any particular Maya version, plug-in, rig or scene.
Keep backups of your work. Some of these tools build and change nodes in your scene.
We are not liable for lost work, lost time, lost profit or damaged scene files. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid.
