Anim GIFs
Record the timeline through a camera, straight to an animated GIF. Ready to drop into Slack or Discord.

What it does
One button
Pick a camera and press Create GIF. The frames are captured off-screen and the viewport's camera is put back afterwards. It follows the timeline, so it records the range you have now.
Small enough to post
Set the pixel size, record every second or third frame, and lower the color count until the file fits. Loop it, or boomerang it forwards then backwards.
Nothing else to install
No converter and no extra download. The tool writes the GIF itself, at the scene's frame rate or one you choose. It can also make a GIF from an image sequence you already have.
A small tool, honestly
It makes GIFs, and a GIF holds 256 colors at most. It is for showing someone a shot quickly, not for dailies. On Maya 2025 and later one palette is worked out for the whole clip and the color count setting applies. On Maya 2024 each frame gets its own dithered palette and that setting does not apply.
