Privacy

The short version: this site does not track you, and the tools never connect to the internet. We learn your email address if you buy something or write to us, and we use it to deliver what you bought and to answer you. That is all of it.

No tracking

No analytics, no cookies, no advertising pixels, no fingerprinting. Every file on these pages, the typefaces included, comes from this site, so reading it tells nobody else you were here.

We never see your card

Payments are handled by Polar, who are the seller on your receipt. Your card details go to them and never reach us.

The tools stay offline

Nothing you install from here connects to the internet. No licence check, no update check, no usage reporting. It ships as plain Python, so you can read it and see.

What we end up knowing

  • If you buy something: Polar passes us your email address, the name you gave at checkout, your country, and what you bought. We use it to make sure you got your download and to help if something goes wrong with it.
  • If you write to us: your email address and whatever you put in the mail. A bug report may include what Maya's Script Editor printed, which can contain file paths from your machine. Trim them if you would rather we did not see them; the report is still useful.
  • If you send something to the library: the file, and the name you asked us to put on it. Both are published, since that is the point. Use any name you like. It does not have to be your real one.
  • If you only read the site: nothing we can tie to you.

What we do with it

  • Deliver what you bought, and answer what you asked.
  • We do not sell it, rent it, trade it or hand it to anybody for advertising.
  • We do not put you on a mailing list. Buying a tool is not signing up for anything.
  • We keep mail for as long as it is useful for supporting you, and delete it when you ask.

Who else is involved

Running even a small shop means a few other companies touch the traffic. These are all of them, and each has a privacy policy of its own that covers its part.

PolarRuns the checkout and is the merchant of record: they take the payment, handle the tax and send the receipt. They keep the sales records the law requires of a seller.
CloudflareHosts this site. Like any web host, their servers see your IP address when your browser asks for a page, and count requests so we know the site is up. We have added no analytics of our own, and nothing on these pages reports back.
Our mail providerCarries and stores the mail you send to our addresses.

Your side of it

Ask what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it or delete it and we will. Ask us to take down something you sent to the library and it comes down. No form, and no reason needed: write to support@twodollartools.com.

The record of a sale is Polar's to keep, because tax law makes the seller keep it. For that part, they are the ones to ask.

If this changes

If we ever start doing something this page does not describe, the page changes first, and the date below changes with it. We would rather keep the list this short.
